In 1845, downtown New Braunfels was bustling with folks looking for a new life. Sure, they were scrounging for tools,
supplies, clothes and other staples. But downtown quickly became known as the city's home for festivals, fellowship,
and FOOD. In fact, by 1853 weekly farmers markets were held on Main Plaza. While times have changed, one thing has not.
Downtown New Braunfels is still a mecca for foodies. From New Braunfels Farm to Market every Saturday to independent bakeries, from fine
dining to snacks on the go, from breweries to coffee shops, The Culinary District has it all.
